Yesterday was quite a busy day. We ran around, got some things done, and then found ourselves stalling a trip to the gym at about 8pm. All of a sudden I had an idea: Let’s go to the crater! When I say the crater, I mean a crater full of hot bubbly water where people go swimming and diving…and floating. Well, the crater was probably closed, but John found an outdoor hotsprings that we could hike to. It was a bit of a hike, but John, Jon and got in the car and off we went. It was a little dark by the time we started hiking, but we saw lots of people walking in and out, lots of cars, so it was obvious it was a well-used spot. So, finally we get up the mountain (3 miles later…) and there are a bunch of people…some with not so much clothing on (meaning none) and an unmistakable smell. Oh yeah. The MJ. SO, we turned and walked back down the mountain. As we were walking down there were bunches of students (BYU looking kids) walking up- so maybe we just went at the wrong time. But it was kind of sad- it was REALLY pretty up there, and we were all looking forward to the hotsprings- but couldn’t get comfortable with the idea of jumping in the crowd. So, it was a good walk…but that’s about all. I really hope we’re able to go back sometime with people who wear clothes…and keep the illegal substances at home…
