Hello all. I’m back. It was a brief hiatus, but I’m feeling a bit better today. Last Friday was no fun- Saturday and Sunday either…but I started to feel ok yesterday, long enough to go to class anyway. After class John and I ran out and got our Christmas tree. Our FIRST tree together from, of course…Harmon’s. And I’ve found out something rather interesting: trees are not that photogenic. I tried to take a picture of it to send or post, but it doesn’t look even HALF as beautiful as it does standing here majestically in my living room- a lit up and covered in red ornaments and gold ribbon. My Mom sent a box of my favorite ornaments that I got today. It’s mostly some that my brother and I put on every year, and then some that she bought for us from Hallmark. One has one of the engagement pictures in it and says, “My Family 2007.” I love that! Then she sent a chocolate moose to John and one of a mother and daughter talking on the phone to me. OH, and a snowman with an oldfashioned lawn mower for the little brother. So no- until I figure it out I’m not posting a picture, but it’s BEAUTIFUL.
Last night after the tree-buying John and I went to my Christmas party for work. I was afraid I’d get sick, but miraculously I was able to EAT and LAUGH and have fun. It was really a good time. It was Rich and Ron and wives, Shovan and girlfriend and Nanda and Shanna and fiance. We played a white elephant gift game. I didn’t really know what that meant, and so when John told me we just needed to wrap something up from around the house I didn’t believe him and went to IKEA. Anyway. I was wrong. But it was ok- Rich’s wife liked the grater we got, and Shovan’s girlfriend will probably like the candle. On top of that, Rich had planned some game where we answered questions about the office and got mon-eh. (That’s…money.) Some of the questions were only for the spouses, and I have to say, John’s little habit of LISTENING WHEN I TALK paid for our Christmas Tree and all the Trimmins’!
I did go to work today- but apparently my gross cough-y-ness scared some people enough that I was told I could come home and rest up. So, I think I’m going to lay down for a bit, then off to the store for some cough medicine and cough drops…and then some reading and studying to prepare for tackling tomorrow.
